To The Doctors



(I will try to write the rulings of Islam about Medical science and doctors)
We respect you because you are one of the most valuable graces of Allah.

We respect you because our billions of money cannot relief any pain in our body.

We respect you because you help us to lead a happy and healthy life.

We appreciate that time you spent in the table and others were watching TV, gossiping or playing in the field.

We salute you for those festivals and ceremonies you missed for your exams and studies.

We thank you for the busy working hours you put tremendous pressure on your brain to find out our diseases or in operation table and others are enjoying easy stress free life.

Importance of opinion of doctors in Islamic Jurisprudence

We will find several places in the book of Fiqh that the great Islamic scholars make the rulings related to the opinion of Doctors. For example, they said in the chapter of Tayammum . (It’s alternative way to get purification when someone has no water or he faces any problem to use water.) In the Majmaul Anhur (vol. 1, page 147) Abdur Rahman Afendi (died in 1668) said, ( أَوْ لِمَرَضٍ خَافَ زِيَادَتَهُ) ....(أَوْ بُطْءَ بُرْئِهِ) .... وَمَعْرِفَتُهُ بِاجْتِهَادِ الْمَرِيضِ تَجْرِبَةً أَوْ أَمَارَةً أَوْ بِإِخْبَارِ طَبِيبٍ مُسْلِمٍ غَيْرِ ظَاهِرِ الْفِسْقِ (مجمع الانهر جـ1 صـ147) ( Tayammum is legal when someone does not have water) or he is afraid of increasing his disease or lasting disease longer. Importance of existence of doctors in society

As human brain declares that doctors are the most essential parts of human society, Sharia also says the same thing. So, it ordered to learn medical science strictly. If none of any locality learns medical science every person of the society will be considered sinner. We find in The Mawsuatul Fiqhiyah Al Kuwaitiyah (vol. 12 page 135) (It’s one of the biggest collections of Fiqh in 45 volumes), التَّطْبِيبُ تَعَلُّمًا مِنْ فُرُوضِ الْكِفَايَةِ، فَيَجِبُ أَنْ يَتَوَفَّرَ فِي بِلاَدِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ مَنْ يَعْرِفُ أُصُول حِرْفَةِ الطِّبِّ ) من الموسوعة الفقهية الكويئتية جـ12 صـ135 ( “Learning Medical Science is Farje Kifayah . So, it’s obligatory to be a person at least in every Muslim town who knows medical related knowledge.”
